Safe Return to Karachi

Family members and officials breathed a sigh of relief as three more crew members of the hijacked oil tanker stepped onto familiar soil at Jinnah International Airport. Ambulances stood by outside the terminal in a scene capturing both the lingering tension and the immense relief of their homecoming, according to Geo News.

The safe arrival marks another milestone in the aftermath of a dramatic maritime ordeal that began weeks ago on the open seas.

The Hijacking and Rescue

According to Geo News, the vessel, identified as MT Honour 25, had been seized by pirates on April 21, thrusting the crew into a harrowing period of captivity.

The situation shifted when Puntland forces launched a successful operation to free the tanker. The intervention led to the liberation of the vessel and the capture of 16 pirates, paving the way for the gradual repatriation of the stranded sailors.

Official Welcome at the Airport

Upon their landing in Karachi, the returning crew members were received by prominent figures Nihal Hashmi and Murtaza Wahab, as reported by Geo News. Their arrival underscores the ongoing efforts to ensure the safe return of all Pakistanis involved in the maritime incident as more personnel make their way back home.
